You have found your people.
MEET THE FOUNDER OF WAKE HER UP
YOU'RE NOT CRAZY!
Hi, I'm Marcella Hill, 43 from Utah, author of Wake Her Up, CEO & founder of two global companies, mother of 4, & I credit my mom for teaching me how to share way too much information with strangers.
5 years ago I started feeling dead inside. No sex drive, and my body hurt all the time. I went to my Gynecologist and asked her to check my hormones. My blood work came back "normal".
Years later, I found Hormone Therapy.
It saved my life!
- I actually WANT to have sex
- My body doesn't ache
- I sleep ALL night
- Brain fog has lifted
- I have normal energy all day
- My legs don't itch anymore
I shared my story on TikTok and woke up to over 9 million views. Women all over the world said they were experiencing all the same symptoms with no help from their doctors. None of us had known these were signs of Perimenopause.
I had NO IDEA that a majority of women feel dead inside. And when we tell our doctors about our perimenopause symptoms, this is what they are saying:
- You're just getting old
- Drink wine to get in the mood
- Lose weight
- You're too young
- Take an anti-depressant
THIS IS INSANE!
We deserve to feel good.
We deserve real answers.
Why aren't doctors helping?
After hearing thousands of your stories I got curious. Why aren't doctors helping? Why don't they seem to know about hormones?
My mom was on every menopause medication and not getting any relief. She asked her doctors what else they could do to help with her hormones. Her doctor said, "We don't learn about hormones in medical school."
I had to find out more, and fell down the rabbit hole to discover the devastating state of women's healthcare.
- Doctors don't learn about hormones
- The North American Medical Society provides the guidelines for menopause. The primary care for menopause favors Anti-Depressants and pain management.
- Viagra is readily available for men but the study is "unclear" if it is effective for women.
- Females were not legally required to be in clinical studies until the NIH Policy in 1993!
- The Women's Health Initiative shut down hormone therapy in 2002, based on a study that has since been determined FLAWED!
SO NOW WHAT!?
Things I've Learned:
What are hormones?
Hormones are chemicals that manage different functions in your body. Hormones send signals to your blood, organs, skin, muscles and other tissues to tell them what to do and when to do it. Hormones are essential for life and your health. Hormone Information Podcast
What is Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT)?
I didn't know anything about hormones until I went to a hormone specialist. I didn't know there was a difference between HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) and BHRT ( Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy) - Marcella Hill
Bioidentical hormones are identical to the hormones naturally made by your body. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) provides an alternative to hormones that are synthetic. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy is made by compounding pharmacists in customized dosages based on the individual needs of the patient.

How Fast does BHRT work?
I wish after my first treatment that it would've worked on the drive home. And I could've walked in the door and immediately wanted my partner. But, that's not how this works. - Marcella Hill
Most will notice a change after 3 months. It can take 6 months for full benefits to be noticeable.
Everyone will have their own journey. Give yourself time to figure out what feels optimal for you.
Marcella's personal timeline:
-
Day 2 - I slept through the whole night
That continued nightly
-
Day 8 - I noticed a generally happy energy throughout the entire day
-
Month 3 - I notice that my body aches had significantly diminished and I started running again!
I was feeling alive! But the sex drive hadn't quite kicked in.
-
Month 4 - Second treatment. Sex Drive kicks into overdrive! My body heats up when he walks in the room.
-
Month 5 - No more need for lube during intercourse.
-
Month 6- Just going into it, will keep you posted HERE
What are the side effects of BHRT?
I didn't think about this. I figured if I'm willing to put Diet Coke and Movie Theater Popcorn into my body with no hope that it will make me feel alive, then put this hope of a better existence IN ME RIGHT NOW. - Marcella Hill
-
Facial Hair - (I have an extra chin hair to pluck (worth shaving a beard to feel this good)
-
Water Retention - (I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar to help with water retention)
-
Weight Gain - (I've gained a few pounds, but now that my body doesn't hurt I can actually care for my body properly)
-
Breast Tenderness
-
Acne
Does Hormone Therapy Cause Cancer?
why we think Hormone Therapy causes cancer
"It's hands down the biggest screw up
of the entire medical field in the last 25 years."
"I won't be able to think of a bigger act of incompetence
than what happened with the women's health initiative in the late 1990's"
- Dr. Peter Attia
